WHO "INVENTED" IRAQ AND THE MODERN MIDDLE EAST?

I am not going to keep you in suspense! There was an article
in yesterday's Jerusalem Post, March 11, 2003--reprinted
from the Wall Street Journal--entitled, My Grandfather
Invented Iraq. The author of this article is Winston S.
Churchill, grandson of Winston Churchill. This grandson, a
former British member of Parliament, informs us with
seemingly great pride:
"Meanwhile, I have a confession to make: It was my
grandfather, Winston Churchill, who "invented" Iraq and laid
the foundation for much of the modern Middle East. In 1921,
as British colonial secretary, Churchill was responsible for
creating Jordan and Iraq and for placing the Hashemite
rulers, Abdullah and Feisal, on their respective thrones in
Amman and Baghdad. Furthermore, he delineated for the
first time the political boundaries of Biblical Palestine."

There you have it: the G-d of our Bible initially delineated the
boundaries of the Holy Land, and the British Colonial
Secretary, Winston Churchill, with one stroke of his pen
changed the edicts of the Almighty.

In the words of Winston Churchill's grandson, his
grandfather "for the first time delineated the political
boundaries of Biblical Palestine."

A short review of history is in order at this point.

Israel became a nation in 1312 B.C.E., i.e. 2,000 years
BEFORE the rise of Islam, and long before there was any
Arab nation. Israel has been the homeland of the Jewish
people since biblical times. It was subsequently "occupied"
more than 15 times. Among its occupiers were the
Egyptians, the Babylonians, the Persians, the Greeks, the
Romans, and the Ottoman Turks. The longest occupiers of
the Holy Land who ruled on and off for 400 years--between
1517 and 1917--were the Ottoman Turks. They were followed
by the British who ruled under a Mandate of the League of
Nations (later the U.N.) to renew a homeland for the Jewish
People.

Britain violated its Mandate of the League of Nations, and
the Mandate of its own Balfour Declaration by carving out
70% of what was supposed to be the Jewish homeland and
giving it to Abdullah, one of the Hashemite tribal rulers,
thereby "inventing" Jordan, which was at first called
Transjordan. Note the name "Transjordan", which means
"across the Jordan". Even in their generosity, the British did
not give Abdullah the biblical Judea and Samaria. Churchill
also "invented" Iraq and placed a rival Hashemite tribal chief
on a throne in Baghdad.

Thus, most of the Arab countries came into being in the
aftermath of the First World War and the disintegration of
the Ottoman Empire. In every case, Britain and France, the
two European colonial powers that had inherited the Arab
provinces of the Ottoman Empire, played the central role in
shaping the new states.

These new states were almost invariably shaped as
instruments for protecting and/ or furthering some specific
strategic interest of the colonial powers concerned.

Iraq, for example, was created around the oil fields of Mosul
and Kirkuk. The Egyptian state's task was to help protect the
Suez Canal. Lebanon was carved out as a state to safeguard
the interests of the Christians of the Orient under French
protection. (The French failed miserably.) Transjordan was
to be a British military outpost.

The new states were built around an army created by the
colonial power largely for policing purposes. With the event
of the decolonization movement, the newly created army-
based Arab states lost their original function. In order not to
lose their power, the Arab military elites decided on a series
of coups d'etat. Armies that had been created as
instruments of colonial domination, redefined themselves as
standard-bearers of Arab nationalism. The excuse they
found for their intervention in politics was the Arab defeat at
the hands of the newly created Israeli State in 1948. The
Arab military promised that once they were in power
themselves, they would restore the lost Arab honor.

The series of coups, begun in Syria in 1948, continued with
the seizure of power by the army in Egypt (1952), Iraq (1958),
Yemen (1960), the Sudan (1962), and Libya (1969). Even
newly independent Algeria soon fell under military rule
(1965).

In most cases, the military overthrew a traditional type of
regime, often in the form of a monarchy backed by tribal
structures.

The army's direct assumption of power led to a gradual
militarization of Arab politics in which force was regarded as
the main source of legitimacy.

The military rulers did what they knew best: wage war. They
began by fighting civil society with the aim of destroying
within it all potential sources of alternative authority and
legitimacy.

They disarmed as many of the tribes as they could, and
executed, imprisoned, exiled and bought most of their
leaders. Operations that amounted to what we now know as
"ethnic cleansing" were conducted against Coptic
Christians in Upper Egypt and Jews and Persians in Iraq.

(At one point almost a fifth of Baghdad's population had
been Jews. By 1968, however, only a handful had remained,
all others having fled to Iran, emigrated to Israel, or been led
to their deaths by successive military rulers. In 1972-73
Saddam Hussein conducted the biggest "ethnic cleansing"
operation in Iraq's history by expelling over 600,000 Iraqis to
Iran on the grounds that they might have had Persian
ancestry.)

In some cases, such as the series of anti-Kurd campaigns in
Iraq between 1932 and 1988, operations launched by the
state reached the level of genocide.

The great danger to the world today is that these Arab
Islamic states have spawned a virulent hatred of the Free
World and against the Judeo-Christian civilization as a
whole.

Playing midwife to all these warring Arab tribes and
inventing and creating states for them has been a colossal
British mistake. Britain certainly did not consider the long-
term consequences of their actions. All of us are now
endangered by the hatred of radical Islam directed against
the Western world.

President George W. Bush has shown great courage and
determination in declaring that Saddam Hussein of Iraq
must be disarmed, whether the United Nations Security
Council, the European Union, Russia, China and the Arab
world agree or not. "All the criticism abroad is not worth the
loss of even one American life at home. When it comes to
our security, we really don't need anybody's permission."
(Ariel Sharon, heed this advice!)

We keep hearing that the United States President George W.
Bush "owes" the British leader Tony Blair for joining in the
battle against Saddam. On the contrary, Tony Blair "owes"
President Bush for trying to clear up the mess which Britain,
as a colonial power, created in the Middle East

The real danger is that the whole world, including
unfortunately George W. Bush, now seems united as to how
to neutralize the Arab terror and to keep it away from their
own shores. Their goal, after the war with Iraq, is to appease
the Arab world by inventing and creating yet another
dysfunctional Arab state.

Here we go again: This time the plan is to carve out even
more land promised to the Jews for their homeland.

Joining us in this discussion tonight are Evelyn Gordon,
veteran journalist and commentator, and Michael Widlansky,
former foreign correspondent for American newspapers and
presently lecturer at the Hebrew University.

The time has come for the Arab World to share the huge
chunk of the Ottoman Empire they received in the early 20th
century--about 1,250,000 square miles--with their Arab-
Palestinian brothers and sisters. The time has come for the
Arab World to invest their resources in democracy and
freedom instead of financing an international "kill-the-
infidel" culture. On this there must be no compromise or
appeasement. The Arab world has enough land and oil.
What the Arab World lacks is the will to live in peace with
themselves, in general and non-Muslims in particular.

The Arab World will never relinquish their quest to destroy
Israel, even at the cost of impoverishing their people and
inculcating them with hatred towards Israel and the United
States, and destroying the hopes of a generation of their
own children. If a side-by-side, two-state solution to the
Arab-Israeli/ Arab-"Palestinian" conflict comes to fruition, it
will be short lived and a disaster for all.

At this point, let me tell you about a joyful, upcoming
happening sponsored by the Women in Green. Next week
we are celebrating the holiday of Purim, the biblical story of
a Jewish woman Esther and her uncle Mordechai who saved
their people from annihilation. Although the present
situation is bleak, we must follow the example of Esther and
Mordechai: "Their hope sustains us in every generation."

You are invited to be a "virtual celebrant" at the Women in
Green Annual Masquerade Dinner in Jerusalem. You can
thereby make it possible for a family member of a victim of
Arab terror to be your special guest at this super Purim
Party.

To sponsor a child--$50; to sponsor an adult--$100; a
couple--$180;
an entire family--$500.

Go to our Website (www.womeningreen.org) and donate
through your credit card in a safe and secure way. Or by fax:
02-6245-380; or email to: michael@womeningreen.org

Purim

We celebrate this Holiday of Purim because our Bible tells
us, thousands of
years ago, the God of Israel wrought a tremendous miracle
to save the
Jewish People from annihilation.

May it be His Will to once again look kindly upon us in these
days when the
Road Map promises our sure destruction, that He perform
yet another Miracle
in our Promised Land
to save us from our "friends" and enemies.

A Joyous Purim (5763) for one and all.

Purim, 5763

On Purim we celebrate the triumph of the Jews over the
machinations of wicked Haman, the offspring of Amalek. In
our time, the Arab enemy continues in the path of Amalek
and Haman, "to destroy, massacre, and exterminate all the
Jews, young and old, children and women" (Esther
3:13).During the period of the desert, Amalek caused Israel
to have doubts concerning the standing of G-d. In our time,
the Arab enemy goes so far as to seek to raise doubts
among our people concerning our very existence as a
people, and our right to our Land.

In our time, the Arab enemy has Jewish accomplices, in
Israel and abroad, who aid this foe with venomous anti-
Jewish and anti-Israeli propaganda. These are, first and
foremost, the architects of Oslo and those who still have the
Oslo mentality, who call upon the people of Israel to
surrender to the enemy and hand over to him its holy Land.
Unlike in the period of the desert, however, in our time we
lack proud Jewish political leadership that will fight properly
against our enemies, both internal and external, without
compromise ; that will not refrain from loudly declaring that
the Land of Israel was given to the People of Israel for
eternity, as G-d has promised us again and again.

The continued activity of our movement, Women in Green ,
which incidentally is celebrating its tenth anniversary , is
therefore very important. The Women in Green movement
continues to be the most active national extra-parliamentary
movement in Israel. We faithfully continue to adhere to the
principles and way of "the Land of Israel for the people of
Israel, in accordance with the Torah of Israel." At this time,
it therefore is appropriate that we survey all that we have
done in the past year in the service of the L-rd, and in behalf
of the People and its historical and Biblical Promised Land..

Women in Green broadcasts three times a week on Arutz 7.
Ruth's English program is broadcast every Wednesday from
9:00 to 10:00 p.m., on the FM frequency 98.7, and AM 1539.
Nadia also broadcasts in English on these frequencies every
Tuesday evening, from 9:00 to 9:30 p.m. Her Hebrew
program is broadcast every Thursday morning from 10:00 to
11:00 a.m. on those frequencies: FM 105.2, and AM 1143.
These programs can be heard on the Internet:
www.israelnationalnews.com.

Every week we print in the local and international editions of
the Jerusalem Post the wonderful cartoons by Oleg, who
draws especially for us. Unfortunately, we do not have the
budget to print these cartoons in the Hebrew press, where
they would surely have a great effect. As part of our
information campaign we fax these cartoons of Oleg, and
our articles and press releases on timely matters, to all the
Members of Knesset and the Israeli media, as well as to all
the members of the American Congress, President Bush, the
members of his cabinet, and the international media.

This year, too, we stood opposite the Prime Minister's Office
and other places in Israel, and demonstrated for various
issues: demonstrations against the establishment of a
Palestinian state in the heart of Eretz Israel, demonstrations
against the political fence that is now being built on the '67
borders that are commonly known as the Auschwitz
borders; demonstrations against the "road map" plan and
demonstrations with the demand to reopen the Temple
Mount and Joseph's Tomb to Jews. All the demonstrations
have a single message: fences and withdrawals will not
bring security. Only the elimination of terror, the expulsion
of the Arab enemy, and the restoration of Jewish
sovereignty over all of Judea, Samaria, and the Gaza District
will ensure our lives here in Israel.

After Operation Defensive Shield, we began a new type of
activity: driving in car convoys throughout Israel, with our
cars decorated with Israeli flags and posters with strong and
clear messages, such as: "The Land of Israel for the People
of Israel," "Expel the Arab Enemy," "To Our Dear Soldiers -
Be Strong and of Good Courage," and others. The car
convoys travel through the streets of the large cities, and at
their conclusion we always go to IDF checkpoints, where we
distribute drinks and refreshments to the soldiers. This
activity greatly heartened the inhabitants of the cities and
the IDF soldiers.

This year we also continued our various activities against
the establishment of a Palestinian state in the heart of Eretz
Israel. Women in Green teams collected about 350,000
signatures on a petition against the establishment of a PLO
state. These petitions were faxed, on a daily basis, to Prime
Minister Ariel Sharon. There is no question that the majority
of the people of Israel vigorously opposes the establishment
of a terrorist state within the Land, and we must continue
the pressure on the Prime Minister so that he will respect
the wishes of the people. As part of this campaign, we
printed banners saying "The land of Israel belongs to the
People of Israel". Those banners are on balconies all over
the country.

To mark the anniversary of the murder of our friend, Minister
Rehavam Ze'evi (Gandhi), may the Lord avenge him, by Arab
terrorists, we conducted a tree planting ceremony on Maale
Har Hazeitim, where we dedicated a garden in his memory.

Our movement continued its activity on behalf of the
settlements of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza. Unfortunately, we
frequently traveled to settlements in Judea, Samaria, and
Gaza for condolence calls after attacks in which Arabs
murdered men, women, and children. Women in Green
delegations came to express support, encouragement, and
identification with the families and settlements in mourning.
On Hanukkah, about two weeks after twelve of our young
men fell in battle with Arab terrorists, Women in Green came
to Hebron with three full buses for a march of support, with
the demand to establish continuity between Kiriat Arba and
Hebron. After the march, we distributed to the children of
Hebron toys and candies that had been donated by our
adjunct organization, the American Friends of Women in
Green.

Our annual march around the walls of the Old City of
Jerusalem on Tisha B'Av night was held, as every year, with
the participation of tens of thousands of people. The Walk is
a spiritual event, but nevertheless serves to strengthen the
unity of Jerusalem, and delivers a clear message to the
entire world:that a unified Jerusalem is the eternal capital of
the Jewish people.

Once again the people of Israel have gone through a difficult
year, a year of terrorist attacks and many challenges. And
specifically in these trying times, the great majority in Israel
has shown that it is strong and steadfast, that it loves its
Land and its heritage, and that it thirsts for proud and strong
Jewish leadership. May it be His will that the verse "there
was gladness and joy among the Jews, a feast and a
holiday" will be fulfilled for us.

Purim same'ah! Happy Purim!

Jerusalem, Israel, 5763

Ominous Portent of Things To Come

What occurred to the Ozeri family this week on Hilltop
#26, in Kiryat Arba near Hebron, is an ominous sign that our
Government has learned very little from Arafat's and the PA
-Arab onslaught against the Jews over the past two years.
The gruesome details of the actions of this Government,
with regard to the Ozeri family survivors, once again
demonstrates that instead of dealing ruthlessly with Arab
terror, the government tends to be ruthless with fellow Jews
who have nationalistic feelings.. In the middle of the night
the government woke up this widow victim of Arab terror,
and her five children, and callously destroyed their home,
exposing them needlessly to yet another trauma.

Women In Green previously has faxed over 350,000
signatures to Prime Minister Sharon showing him that an
overwhelming majority in Israel and elsewhere who are
opposed to the creation of another Arab State west of the
Jordan River. Prim Minister Sharon continues to ignore this
clear demonstration of the will of the Jewish People.. It is
also without precedent that this Government continues to
disregard the overwhelming majority of the Jewish People in
Israel who recognize that the Oslo Process has failed, and
must be replaced.

The annexation of historical and Biblical areas
of Judea, Samaria and Gaza areas is one such alternative. It
certainly will better foster Israel's security. Certainly the
incomprehensible, and unrealistic Road Map proposed by
the Holy Four will not, in any way, solve the difficult problem
of Arab terror ..

The Sharon Government apparently is bent on
continuing along the same paths of its failed previous
attempts to reach an accord with the Arabs. Its policies are
not based on any proof whatsoever that the Arabs are at all
interested in genuine peace with Israel.

Proof to the contrary is abundantly available. We must
face up to the fact of this virulent hatred and hostility, and
soberly evaluate what alternatives we have. We can no
longer be intimidated by the forces of the "left" who
espouse general platitudes against transfer, but ignore the
realities of the extensive campaign of deep, persistent anti-
Semitic hatred. which the Arabs are fostering .throughout
the world. Caroline Glick, a Jerusalem Post reporter in the
Iraqi conflict, recently experienced this virulent hatred up
close in the typical Arab backward country of Kuwait.
Unfortunately, such Arab hatred of Jews and America can
readily be found everywhere as a result of masterful
propaganda by the Arabs, based on deliberate lies.

The programs of previous governments to make peace
with the Arabs has gotten us nowhere. It is best that our
government attempts new directions and approaches.
Transfer to the area controlled by Jordan is presently the
most popular suggestion, but not the only one. What is vital
is that there be free and open discussion of possible
solutions. Israel and Jewish survival are at stake. This
Government can no longer ignore the looming dangers to
our very existence. It certainly should not be adopting the
ugly tactics that are reminiscent of the Sharon travesty in
Yamit.

Hill 26

The following document contains 3 parts:

1- the chilling testimony of Livnat Ozeri
2- article by Nadia Matar, in reaction to the destruction of hill
26
3- short legal background about the hill, explaining why
there was no legal
basis for destroying the hill

1-The Testimony of Livnat Ozeri, the Widow of Nati Ozeri,
May the Lord
Avenge Him
interview with Nadia Matar, Chairperson, Women in Green

In preparation for my Hebrew program on Arutz 7 that is
broadcast every
Thursday morning, I asked to interview Livnat Ozeri, the
widow of Nati
Ozeri, who was murdered two months ago by Arab killers,
who came on
Sabbath eve to their house, which is on Hill 26 in Kiryat Arba
- and
murdered Nati,HY"D.

The following is the chilling testimony of Livnat Ozeri, that
she gave in a
telephone interview with me.

(For anyone who is not familiar with Hill 26: on this hill Nati,
HY"D,
built his modest home with his own hands, and it was there
that he lived
with his wife and children under difficult conditions. There is
a stone
house next to the house, and about 30 meters further away
there were two
more small structures inhabited by the young people who
worked together
with Nati on the hill, where they planted trees, vegetables,
etc. In short:
a farm in the full sense of the word, in which much work and
sweat and much
love of Eretz Israel were invested. After Nati's murder,
Livnat, despite
the extremely hash conditions, continued to live there with
her five
orphans, in order to continue her husband Nati's life work,
and thereby
show the Arab enemy that they will not succeed in breaking
them. The young
people also continued to live on the hill, and helped Livnat
to develop the
place and guard it. There are always two guards on the hill.)

The following is her testimony:
"On Sunday night, March 23, 2003, I went to sleep about
11:00 p.m. My five
children had already gone to sleep earlier. About 10 minutes
later, the
guard knocked on the door, and told me that something
didn't look right to
him - a lot of [security] forces are arriving. I got up, managed
to put on
my shoes, when suddenly the door was broken in (without
knocking). The
soldiers entered the room in which the children were
sleeping, and began to
conduct a search. They did not speak to me, they did not
show me an order,
nothing. I asked what they wanted. They did not reply. They
took various
items from the room, like weapons (the hill's weapons), and
MIRS
communication devices.

"After a few minutes, most of the soldiers left, in the
direction of the
young people's buildings. Two soldiers remained there with
me, and they
photographed me all the time with a video camera, without
speaking. My
threeand a half year old child woke up and began to cry. I
took him in my
arms, and I sat next to the fireplace [the only source of heat
in the house
- N. M.] that was still burning a bit from the evening. The
child began to
cry that he was very cold. I asked the soldiers to close the
doors - since
both doors had been forced in and stood wide open in the
extremely cold
night. The soldiers did not respond.

"A policeman entered and asked, 'Where is Uriel's coat?'
(Uriel is one of
the young men.) I told him that the coat was in the stone
house, and that I
would bring it. I went out to the stone house with my child in
my arms,
where I was told that the reason for the raid was to find
several young
men, and I saw several of the young people standing
outside. They were
being searched. I entered the stone house to find the coat. In
the stone
house - still with my child in my arms - I decided to sit on the
bed for a
second in order to rest. The soldiers begin to report on their
radio that
"the woman is starting to barricade herself in the stone
house!" This is
how they reported, despite their seeing that I was shaking all
over from
the cold, with my child in my arms, and I only sat for a
second in order to
rest, so that I wouldn't fall.

"It is important to note that we later learned that a large
portion of the
soldiers were Special Patrol Unit (Yasam) policemen
disguised as soldiers!
The Special Patrol Unit commander of the Samaria and
Judea Region, named
Herns, commanded the "operation" to remove me and the
children from the house.

"I immediately rose from the bed and told them: 'Don't report
incorrect
things. I sat for a second to rest, and I'm already going out
now.' I left
the stone house in order to return to my house, where the
children were
still sleeping. When I went past the police van, they told me
that I had to
enter the car immediately. I told them that I could not leave
the children
alone in the house. They forcibly pushed me into the police
car.

"And then the soldiers went to bring the children from their
beds. Despite
my request to bring them myself, since these are children 11
years old and
younger - and there is no need to explain the trauma that a
child
experiences when his father has recently been murdered,
and strangers take
him out of his bed to a police car in the middle of the night! -
they refused.

"In the meantime, I see that they filled another police car
with the young
people and drove away.
"I understood that they were taking us someplace else, and I
therefore
asked to bring diapers, a bottle, something to drink and eat,
for the
children. They did not agree.

"And so I find myself in a police car, in the middle of the
night, almost
midnight, in the freezing Hebron cold, with my five children -
dressed in
pajamas, without socks, without shoes, without a coat, and
without a
sweater. They forbade me to bring warm clothing or
blankets for my
children. We began to drive. I asked them where they were
taking us. 'You
will know later on, we have a long drive,' they replied.

"It is important to note that everything that I have described
until now
was accompanied by much bad talk and speech by the
'soldiers' against us.
They laughed at me. When I asked questions, they shouted
at me: 'Sit
still,' and the like.
"When I wanted to know where they were taking us: Are you
taking me to my
parents? They answered: 'This is what you want, OK, we'll
take you to your
parents,' in order to shut me up.
"I asked to call my parents - all the time they told me, 'In a
little while
you'll call.'

"I saw that we were traveling towards Jerusalem, through an
Arab village,
so as not to enter Kiryat Arba!
"When we reached the Gush Etzion area, that is, after
driving for about 30
minutes, the smaller children, especially the five year old
small girl,
asked to stop to go to the bathroom. They did not let my
children go to the
bathroom.

"When we entered Jerusalem, I saw that we were traveling in
the opposite
direction from where my parents live. They inform me that it
is not
possible to drive to my parents.
"We passed through all of Jerusalem, and I saw that we are
starting to
travel on the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv highway.
"I begged them that at least they allow the children to stay
with my
grandmother (who lives in Givat Shaul) - take me where you
want, but
please, have some compassion on the children, let them go
to my grandmother.
"They answer me with an emphatic No - it is not possible to
bring them to
my grandmother.

"We drove along, without their telling me to where. They
only told me:
'This will take several hours more.' We came to the Rosh ha-
Ayin area. In
the police car, they receive a telephone call ordering them to
return me to
Jerusalem.
"(I later learned that their destination was the city of Ariel,
where the
state had prepared an apartment for me! That is, they
wanted to exile me to
Ariel - a place far from home, and far from the family.)
"It was my father, Shaul Nir, who had heard about the raid
and who did not
know where they had taken me, who successfully exerted
pressure, thanks to
many telephone calls, to have me returned to Jerusalem.

"And so, in the middle of the night, they put me out of the
police car on a
street in Jerusalem, with my five children, without even
knowing whether my
grandfather and grandmother were home. I was without my
handbag, without a
key, without money, without a telephone, with five children
freezing in
their pajamas. They put me out near my grandmother's
house, and left.

"All this time I had no idea of what was happening on the
hill. I did not
know that on the hill bulldozers demolished my house and
the rest of the
hill - and obliterated every Jewish trace there. It was only the
following
day, when I learned of the destruction and returned there,
that I saw the
horrible sight: everything was destroyed. The house, the
furniture,
everything was gone. I had lost all the contents of the
house. All the
plantings were wiped off the face of the earth.
"Incidentally, for three hours they would not let me go near
the ruins,
even though all that I wanted was to try and find a few more
items -
perhaps I could find the children's coats, clothes.... Some of
the
agricultural equipment was ruined, another portion (like
parts of the
tractor), were left abandoned on the hill, unguarded - so that
the Arabs
could steal them.

"That's it. That's all that happened."

I asked Livnat if she wanted to add anything, and this is
what she replied:
"It is written in Exodus 22:21[-23]: 'You shall not ill-treat any
widow or
orphan. If you do mistreat them, I will heed their outcry as
soon as they
cry out to Me, and My anger shall blaze forth and I will put
you to the
sword, and your own wives shall become widows and your
children orphans.'

"When I returned to the hill with my 10- and 12-year-old
children, I said
to the soldiers and policemen there: 'I will overcome my
personal pain. But
what is so painful is the hillul Hashem [desecration of the
name of God]
that was committed here. Seeing that the Arab houses are
still standing,
while Jews destroyed houses of Jews - this is an
indescribable pain. God
will judge those responsible for the injustice that was done
here."

Aviva Nir, Livnat's grandmother, wanted to add a few words:
This horrifying incident raised associations from another
time and place -
from not so long ago - for Avivah Nir. In her words: "Then,
they took the
Jews without telling them anything, without letting them
have a drop of
water, without shoes, without blankets.
"This is how they took my granddaughter and the children to
the police car,
forcibly, in the terrible cold, without water, without clothes.
And when
she asked them: 'Where are you taking me?' - they answered
her: 'A long
way.' It is so difficult for me to believe that Jews are capable
of doing
this to Jews.

"I warmly opened my house to my granddaughter, the
widow, and the five
orphans, because they were left without any home, without
clothing, without
money. Livnat did not tell you, but I will: all the money that
was in her
purse and the contributions in dollars that people donated
from abroad
after the murder- everything is gone. All the money was
stolen.

"Now Livnat and the children are with me. But I don't have
the strength to
care for all the children alone. Livnat's mother has left her
work for a
while and she helps me and Livnat to care for the children.
In addition, we
do not have the financial means to carry the burden of all
the expenses
entailed in the raising of five children. Food, clothing, and all
the rest
... everything has fallen on us. We would be very glad if the
public could
help.

"That's it - I don't have the strength to talk any more.
Wickedness knows
no bounds. It is intolerable to think that Jews are capable of
doing such
things to other Jews. I only pray to God, the Deliverer of
widows and
orphans, to take proper care of the wicked."

Nati Ozeri, May the Lord Avenge Him, Was Murdered Twice

Nati Ozeri,HY"D, who built his modest home and his farm
with his own hands
on Hill 26 in Kiryat Arba, was murdered twice.

He was murdered the first time two months ago by Arab
Nazis who came to his
house - armed with weapons they obtained thanks to the
Oslo criminals - and
shot him to death.

Nati was murdered the second time by all the members of
the Sharon
government, when they ordered and approved the
destruction - in the middle
of the night - of his home, in which his widow Livnat and the
orphans lived.
When IDF soldiers demolish the house of an Arab terrorist,
may his name be
blotted out, the family of the terrorist receives advance
notice, and time
to remove the contents of the house that is to be destroyed.
But, in
contrast, in the case of the home of Ozeri - a victim of Arab
terror (!) -
there was not even any advance warning, and there was no
time to remove the
contents of the house! IDF bulldozers demolished and
crushed everything.

While most Israeli children still worry that, Heaven forbid,
Iraqi Scuds
will destroy their home, the orphans of Nati Ozeri, may the
Lord avenge
him, learned that there are people who are much more
terrifying and
threatening than Saddam Hussein: the Sharon government,
that dances
obsequiously before the Left.

The destruction of Nati Ozeri's house constitutes the giving
of a prize to
the murderers of Nati, may the Lord avenge him. The Arab
murderers learn
that it pays to murder Jews in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza: not
only are Jews
murdered - the government of Israel even completes the
crime by its
destruction of the murder victim's home. This also
happened after the
murder of Dov Driban,HY"D, when it razed his house, and it
happened this
time, again, with the house of Nati. And these are only two
examples.
This is a shameful disgrace for the State of Israel!

The order to destroy Nati's house was undoubtedly issued
by Prime Minister
Sharon, who is attempting - during the war in Iraq - to break
the spirit of
the settlers of Judea, Samaria, and Gaza, in preparation for
the
negotiations over the "road map" and the establishment of a
Palestinazi
state in the heart of Eretz Israel.

The Prime Minister and those around him must know that
their machinations
will be of no avail. New hills will be settled for every hill that
is
evacuated. A government that evacuates Jews from their
homes and surrenders
to the terror of the left and the Arabs is a government that
will not endure.
When the time comes, the soldiers and police who
participate in the
persecution of Jews and their evacuation from their homes
will stand trial
for carrying out a patently illegal order.
We call upon the Prime Minister and his partners - who, for
some reason,
maintain the silence of the lambs - to apologize to the Ozeri
family and to
order the immediate reconstruction of the houses on Hill 26.
Anything else will constitute capitulation to terror, and the
government's
spitting in the face of the Ozeri family, and in he faces of all
the other
families of the victims of Arab terror.

Legal Background on Hill 26: Hill 26 Belongs to Kiryat Arba

An Arab who lives next to the hill claims that it is his
land.Over the past
years he went through several rounds of judicial
proceedings, and always lost.
One of the discoveries made by Attorney Nadav Haetzni,
who is representing
the hill, is that the Arab's documents were forged. The Arab
appealed to
the High Court of Justice about a year ago. The Court issued
an interim
order that says that since there is a disagreement regarding
the hill, then
in the meantime no permanent structures are to be built
there.

The entire time that Nati, HY"D, lived on the hill, there was
no permanent
structure there.
Following the funeral of Eleazar Leibowitz, HY"D[ who was
murdered by Arab
terrorists], Nati was exiled from the hill for five months. His
wife
Livnat, the children, and the young people remained on the
hill. As winter
approached, the young people on the hill decided to
reinforce the house.
They added stones to it, thereby, according to the High
Court of Justice,
turning the house into a "permanent house."

The Arab's lawyer filed a complaint.
When Nati returned to the hill after five months, the
representatives of
the Civil Administration (who had had good relations with
Nati) came and
explained to him that the situation must be corrected. The
Civil
Administration representatives advised Nati to remove the
roof, and
everything would be alright. On 12 Shevat (January 14,
2003), Nati agreed
to the request of the Civil Administration. On 15 Shevat
(Friday night
January 17) he was murdered, before he had time to remove
the roof and
replace it with a "nonpermanent" roof.

After the murder, the widow decided that "nothing is to be
destroyed now."
They murdered her husband, removing the roof was
inconceivable. Sunday
night, 20 Adar II (the night between March 23-24, 2003) the
army came and
razed the house, all the structures and the entire farm.
Everything was
crushed.

Whoever hides behind the ruling of the High Court of
Justice, as if it were
the High Court of Justice that ordered the destruction of the
hill, is lying!
According to the order by the High Court of Justice, it was
not necessary
to evacuate and raze the entire hill. All that the High Court of
Justice
ordered was that there be no permanent structure on the hill
until the
final decision by the Court.

We ask:
Why did the army receive the order to destroy the entire hill,
and with
such brutality? Is this a trial balloon by Sharon for the
evacuation of the
meahazim (outpost settlements)? How is it that the same
army that reached
an agreement with Nati that it was not necessary to
demolish the house, how
is it that this same army could not just remove the roof, and
put an end to
the story? Why destroy everything? These were the same
ones who reached an
agreement with Nati, three days before his murder, that it
was possible to
honor the order of the High Court of Justice by removing the
roof? What
happened?

We have learned that responsible people who are in contact
with the
authorities asked and pleaded that if they already insisted
upon destroying
the house or part of it, then the army should bring mobile
housing units
(karavanim) to the hill (that was permitted in accordance
with the High
Court of Justice order), where all of Livnat's belongings
would be brought,
and only then demolish part of the house.

But the army destroyed everything - crushed, broke,
trampled down, and we
cry out against the wickedness, the brutality, and the terrible
injustice,
and we ask: why?
On the Hebron Internet site: www.hebron.org.il you will see
horrifying
pictures of the destruction of the hill.

I asked the IDF Spokesman to receive the army's response
to everything that
was described above. I was told by the spokeswoman of the
Minister of
Defense that "because I plan on reading this story on Arutz
7 radio- we got
clear instructions from the Attorney General not to have any
contact with
an illegal media outlet. !

We call upon the entire public to send letters to the Prime
Minister, to
government ministers, and Members of Knesset protesting
against the
evacuation from their homes of Jews - the victims of Arab
terror. The Arabs
have learned that nothing is more profitable than the murder
of Jews.
Additionally, we cannot remain silent in the face of the
terrible and
brutal maltreatment of a widow and orphans - something
that is contrary to
Judaism.
